Get your paper!
Today was a lot of fun in Music with Mommie class! We had a photographer and writer with us taking pictures and getting info from the moms today. I am very excited to say Cameron and I will be on the cover, a color photo no less, on a new women's magazine to be in the Saturday paper called Living Well. The article is going to be on Early Childhood Music. So next Saturday August 30th make sure to get your paper, and if you happen to miss it, no worries. I will hopefully get a link to it here.

What are they doing?
My students are doing all sorts of things. My students have lead roles in Musical Theatre locally, shows like Honk Jr., Godspell, and Grease. Other students are working on classical music for competions. We work on all sorts of things throughout the year. Right now students are getting ready to work on the music for All State Chorus. I help them with not only learning the music but singing it with the correct artistry and technique. I have another student who is getting ready to go to the recording studio for her upcoming CD.
Regardless of what stage of learning the voice my student is in currently, there is always something they can be doing outside of lessons to help them improve further. I always encourage my students to get involved and perform. I am proud of all they do.

Open House
The Reese Performing Arts Academy will be having their annual open house August 9th. This is a time to come and check out the Academy and the classes they are offering for the 2008-2009 Season. One such class they will be offering this year is a wonderful Musical Theatre class taught by yours truly.
This year I am hoping to do several scenes rather than just one big number. I am currently looking at music for Bye Bye Birdie, Legally Blonde, Annie, and High School Musical and I am always open to suggestions. We will have real costumes, props and sets. This is a class for those who truly love musical theatre.

A plug for Concert Production
So here is my plug for Concert Production. A big music store, the only one I have found in Murfreesboro that even sells pianos (which was great to find, just cause I didn't think there was a store here that sold them), a staff that is helpful and friendly (a little wierd sometimes but hey they are musicians and name a musician thats not a bit wierd, yep exactly), and the place where I rent a studio and teach my voice and piano lessons.
